ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. – Sullivan East High School junior Jenna Hare soared and spiked her way to 20 kills on Thursday, while her team entered rarified air in what as indeed about as flawless of a performance as East could have put together in impressively cruising to a  triumph over the Tennessee High Vikings in the finals of the TSSAA District 1-AA volleyball tournament.

The 14-year-old Virginia High freshman will be traveling to Klagenfurt, Austria as part of Team USA to compete in the World Junior 9-Ball Championships on Oct. 6-10. Not bad for a once-shy little girl who didn’t pick up a pool cue until six years ago.

BRUSSELS (AP) — It’s the premier martial arts group in Europe for right-wing extremists. German authorities have twice banned their signature tournament. But Kampf der Nibelungen, or Battle of the Nibelungs, still thrives on Facebook, where organizers maintain multiple pages, as well as on Instagram and YouTube, which they use to spread their ideology, draw in recruits and make money through ticket sales and branded merchandise.
