MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- Tennessee High took down South Gibson 13-3 to stay alive in the TSSAA Class AAA state baseball tournament on Wednesday.
“Last year we were in the same situation, we lost to Tullahoma,” Roberts said. “It was an emotional game, first game of the state tournament. You lose the game; you think your seasons over and it’s not. You win the game, and you think you won the state championship and it’s not.”
The bounceback kids from Sullivan East High School did it again.
Sullivan East fell to South Gibson in a lopsided TSSAA Class 3A first-round state baseball tournament game that was doomed from the start by a six-run rally by South Gibson in the top of the first inning and ended in 12-2 score that qualified for the mercy rule.
