The Amarillo Sandies got a pleasant surprise at the start of their Arby’s Classic opener Tuesday evening. West Ridge was in a zone defense and that did nothing to slow down the Sandies, who shot 66 percent from the field, converted seven 3-point attempts, and placed four players in double figures to defeat the Wolves in the Arby's Classic on Tuesday. 

King University has announced the passing of Ruth Nida, the widow of Tornado Hall of Fame men’s basketball coach Al Nida on Dec. 3. A graveside service will be held today at Glenwood Cemetery at 11 a.m.
