Boone Lake Water Levels 01

The Tennessee Valley Authority is gradually raising Boone Lake water levels back to normal and are asking property owners to clear any debris that has gathered in their portion of the lakebed before a target date of March 15. Portions of the lake have been drained since 2014 as part of a seepage repair project at Boone Dam. TVA has already raised water levels by 8 feet since October and are holding the current level over winter while testing parts of the new Boone Dam.

This marks the beginning of Scout Week and the continual campfire that will be manned by Scouts 24/7 until Saturday, when the Klondike Derby will end the week’s activities. The procedure for the retirement of the American flag is to post colors, salute the flag, then taps is played and the flag is burned in fire.
