Improvements in Marion (Smyth County)
Design Public Meeting

Find out about proposed improvements to Route 11 in the Town of Marion. The project includes
improving the turning radius where Route 11 and Route 16 intersect, changes to traffic flow from
Pendleton Street to Route 11, and pedestrian improvements.
During the meeting, VDOT will follow all COVID-19 precautions to ensure the health and safety of
attendees. The project website will include the same information, materials and presentations
available at the public meeting. The project website is found at:

Review the proposed project plans during the public meeting, on VDOT’s website at

plans also can be reviewed at the Abingdon Residency Office located at 700 East Main Street in
Abingdon, 276-676-5503. Please call ahead to ensure the appropriate personnel are
available to answer your questions. Property impact information, relocation assistance
policies, and tentative construction schedules are available for your review at the above
addresses and will be available at the public meeting.

VDOT’s website at the address listed above by August 27, 2021, or to Mr. Chase Buchanan,
Project Manager, Virginia Department of Transportation, 2111 Bonham Road, Bristol, VA 24201.
