Success Story Craig Fox Craig Fox joined the Mount Rogers Regional Adult Education Program (MRRAEP) in 2020. The circumstances which led him to attend the program is unlike any from past success stories. Craig had always been interested in educating himself through reading and watching documentaries about science and history. He got his GED® at 17 after the death of his father so he could get a job and help support his family. It wasn’t until he landed a great job at Columbus McKinnon in Damascus, VA, that he realized the importance of this piece of paper. Partially due to not having digital records and the interruption COVID over the last year, it could have taken months to get a record of his GED® from Cook County, Illinois; this would have put his job in jeopardy. He decided to retake the GED® test with Mount Rogers to keep his job. He feels he owes a lot of his success to his partner and to the teachers at MRRAEP who went above and beyond their call of duty to work around his busy schedule. Teachers gave up their weekends, coming in to work with him on Saturdays and Sundays to ensure that he was prepared to retake the test. He was astounded by their dedication as well as the free services available through the MRREAP. Not only were the prep classes tuition-free, MRRAEP paid for the cost of the official GED®, as well!
