PUBLIC NOTICE APPLICATION FOR PERMIT RENEWAL NPDES PERMIT NO. 0082096 APPLICATION NO. 1011396 UNDER CHAPTER 19, TITLE 45.1 CODE OF VIRGINIA PUBLICATION NO. 23DRD02 The Black Diamond Company of 1073 Riverview Street, Grundy, Virginia 24614 is applying to the Virginia Mined Land Repurposing Program for a renewal to NPDES Permit No. 1102096, Town Hill South Mine, by Application 1011396. The permit area is approximately 100.08 ac. The site is situated in Tazewell County, approximately 3.2 miles northwest of Richlands on Town Hill Creek, off State Route 460 and Town Hill Creek Road. The Jewell Ridge, Virginia USGS 7.5 minute quadrangle map was used to describe the location of the permit area. No NPDES Outfalls currently remain on the permit. Any person with a valid legal interest which might be adversely affected by this proposal, or an officer or head of any federal, state or local government agency or authority, may within 30 days of May 17, 2023, submit written comments or objections concerning this application, and may also request, in writing, that the Mined Land Repurposing Program hold an Informal Conference concerning this application.
