NOTICE OF PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD AND PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING AN AMENDMENT TO SECTION 22-31 OF THE FLOYD COUNTY CODE AMENDING ELECTION DISTRICT BOUNDARIES The Board of Supervisors of Floyd County, Virginia will on December 7, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. on the Floyd County Administration Building, 120 W. Oxford Street, Floyd, Virginia, conduct a public hearing to receive public comments on the adoption of a proposed ordinance entitled "An Ordinance Providing for the Names and Boundaries of Election Districts, Voting Precincts and Establishing a Polling Place for Each Voting District" The proposed change is being considered as a result of the 2020 decennial census and in accordance with Va. Code Sections 24.2-125 et seq. and 24.2-311 et seq. A copy of the proposed Ordinance is on file and available for inspection in the Office of the County Administrator, Floyd County Administration Building, 120 W. Oxford Street, Floyd, Virginia 24091. Accompanying the ordinance will be a map or maps showing the existing boundaries of each election district and the proposed change to each such district within the County. All interested persons are invited to attend and present their views at the above time and place. Anyone having questions on this matter or needing assistance to attend this meeting should contact the Office of the County Administration Building, 120 W. Oxford Street, Floyd, Virginia, 540-745-9300. Moreover, the Floyd County Board of Supervisors will be accepting written public comments from members of the public beginning immediately and continuing until 5:00 p.m. on December 13, 2021.
